Derby Film Festival

Derby Film Festival returns between 4 – 13 May with ten days of fantastic film premieres, previews, guests, talks and more. Based at QUAD – Derby, Derby Film Festival this year welcomes guests including Actress & Singer Toyah Willcox for an on stage conversation about her career on screen and Mandie Fletcher , director of hit sitcoms like Absolutely Fabulous, Blackadder and Only Fools And Horses for a discussion of her career making Britain laugh and her recent moving into cinematic features.

We also have previews of some of the year’s biggest films including On Chesil Beach, The Bookshop, L’Amant Double and The Endless and return to Derby Cathedral for another special silent film screening with accompaniment on the Cathedral Organ. This year’s film is the iconic Nosferatu by F.W. Murnau.

In addition to this we will be welcoming Anwen Hurt, widow of the late Sir John Hurt, to introduce our preview screening of That Good Night, which features his final leading screen role, and we also hold the world premiere of documentary Portrait Of A Village which looks at life in the Derbyshire village of Spondon over the course of a year.

The full festival programme can be viewed online at www.derbyfilmfestival.co.uk and the festival can be found on twitter at https://twitter.com/derbyfilmfest and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TheDerbyFilmFestival
