Libraries and Reading in Derbyshire

Derbyshire County Council runs the library service for the county.  Anyone who lives, works or studies in Derbyshire, or is visiting the county, is welcome to use our 45 branch libraries, 10 mobile libraries or our 24-hour online service.

We have more than a million books, DVDs and CDs in stock; a free information service hotline, including help for creative businesses; local and family history resources; and events for all ages.

Here are just a few of the services you might find useful:

Talks on archives and local studies. Archivists and local studies librarians can offer a range of talks, workshops and displays aimed at both adults and children. Possible topics include:

• Preserving Your Past – preservation of your archives at home
