Arts, Health and Wellbeing

We have been developing Arts in Health and Wellbeing work since 2008, first as the Derbyshire Arts Partnership and now under the banner of Arts Derbyshire.

This work has several strands, including a growing network, strategic advocacy and development work, management of specific projects and information dissemination. Work is managed by the Arts and Health Co-ordinator, who can be contacted on artsandhealthderbyshire@gmail.com. The Arts and Health Co-ordinator is also a member of the National Alliance for Arts, Health and Wellbeing as East Midlands representative.

Derbyshire Arts and Health Network

The Derbyshire Arts and Health Network exists for anyone who works in or is interested in the field of Arts, Health and Wellbeing. We provide regular network newsletters and hold annual conferences. Click here to find out more, read conference reports or to join the network for free.

See here for information on our vision, purpose and aims.

Arts and Health Projects

The Derbyshire Arts, Health and Wellbeing Working Group has been involved in a number of development projects in the County. Here, you can find resources produced by the group as well as details of linked projects.

arts:impact

arts:impact was funded by the Pfizer Foundation UK, to provide professional arts activity in care settings, and training for care staff.  You can read our summary and detailed evaluation reports here. As part of this project we set up Caring Creatively – a newsletter, web resource and networking opportunities for care staff wishing to lead and develop arts activity in their care setting.

Caring Creatively

Caring Creatively is the website to help you care creatively for older people in Derbyshire. If you are working or volunteering with older people or any vulnerable adult in a care setting, in the community or in their own home, Caring Creatively is here to help you. On this website you will find handy hints and tips on how to run an arts activity, finding funding, recruiting artists, links to useful organisations and also a bank of practical activities to use with those you're caring for.

Taking the Lead

Taking the Lead was an exciting Youth Music - funded initiative to support young people's development through providing leadership oppportunities in and around music making in care settings. In addition, we provided training for Derbyshire's music leaders and developed a toolkit in order to encourage this intergenerational practice. Click here to read more about the project and download the independant evaluation report and the Toolkit.
