Infectious and impassioned Eastern European gypsy folk, heart-rending ballads and fiery dances delivered by a quartet of Britain's most revered international musicians, as nattily behatted as befits any strolling gypsy band. ???? The Herald 'The fiery vivacity and awe-inspiring musicianship leaves you with a grin on your face and rhythm in your feet.' The Times ______________________________________________________________________ The Budapest Café Orchestra play powerful, driving folk from Eastern Europe inspired by the music of European gypsies. The music evokes vivid images of fiddle maestros, Budapest café life and gypsy campfires. Boasting four fabulous musicians and boasting some of the country's most revered international stars - Chris Garrick on violin (one of Europe's most celebrated jazz violinists performing regularly with Cleo Lane and John Dankworth); Eddie Hession on free bass accordion (accompanist to Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras; supreme accordion champion of Great Britain); Kelvin Cantlon on double bass and Adrian Zolotuhin on guitar, sax and balalaika - they play an impassioned mixture of blistering czardas (Cossack music), Russian and Ukranian folk songs, grief-stricken ballads and rollicking dances from Romania and Bulgaria as well as their own electrifying compositions. And the band makes sure everyone finds their inner gypsy with sing-alongs and plenty of foot-stomping dance numbers. ______________________________________________________________________ ????
