Alive and Stitching Exhibition

Alive and Stitching was formed in 2001 as an exhibiting group by local artists Anne Menary, Jo Owen, Peggy Fearne, Ann Parkin, Diane Gilder and Lynne Garbutt.
They produce a colourful mix of traditional and abstract hangings, sculptures, bags, wall panels and even books. Their artworks are made by hand or machine from materials ranging from fabric, thread and paint to wire and plastic tubing.
The group have recently held successful exhibitions at Bankfield Museum, Halifax, Up-front Gallery, Cumbria and locally at Cromford Mill. They are now bring a display of their work to the Tourist Information Centre, Chesterfield from August 28th until September 16th.
