Derby Museums invites you to join us for our upcoming STEAM Session event ‘Evidence-based STEAM Learning Strategies’. Taking place online at 6-7:30pm on Tues 25th May. This series of FREE bi-monthly CPD events is ideal for teachers (EYFS through to post-16) and all other forms of educators.
In our third STEAM Session event of 2021, we’ll be exploring some of the wider evidence-based research and motivations around creative interdisciplinary STEAM learning which helps make it effective and support equity and diversity. We’ll also be sharing practical insights, case studies and a few hands-on strategies for applying this in your own teaching. Joining us in conversation will be guest speaker Lewis Hou – founder and director of the Science Ceilidh, an award-winning organisation supporting creativity, curiosity and wellbeing.
‘STEAM Sessions’ are a FREE series of bi-monthly events, exploring with educators how STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) learning is able to prepare our children and young people to face future environmental and social challenges in a rapidly changing world. Each session is a FREE live CPD event, featuring conversation with expert guest speaker(s) from national & international STEAM-linked organisation(s). STEAM sessions are part of the Institute of STEAM, which is a partnership between Derby Museums and Rolls-Royce. All who attend the session will also have the opportunity to continue the discussion, network with other educators online, and share free STEAM links & resources, via our interactive STEAM Slack channel.
Please book now via Eventbrite – spaces are FREE but limited & pre-booking is essential!
