Introducing The Arts Derbyshire Trustees – Anna O’Steele
Arts Derbyshire is supported by a team of trustees. The Arts Derbyshire board of trustees’ work supports our goal of enriching people’s lives through the arts. As well as supporting Derbyshire’s art scene through Arts Derbyshire, our trustees also have personal links to the creative sector, with many of them being artists themselves. Although you may have read about our trustees already here, in this series we wantto introduce you to eachArts Derbyshire Trustee and let them tell you about their story and relationship with the Derbyshire arts scene.

“Having watched the exciting developments made at Arts Derbyshire in the last 18months, along with the reality of the challenge the sector faces nationally, and of course specifically across Derbyshire and the East Midlands, I am keen to offer my skills to an organisation who might contribute to the stabilising, development and profiling of the arts. We are in an incredibly difficult landscape both as practitioners working in the sector, but also creatively, after over a decade of necessary resilience which has seen numerous organisations and individuals close, or step away from the industry. The plans Arts Derbyshire has under Stephen’s leadership recognise this landscape, but embraces ambition and those organisation who can muster that energy, need support to realise potential. I hope that in some small way, I might contribute to that for the greater good of the arts and culture sector in the area.”
