Maria tells stories to people of all ages across Derbyshire and beyond – regularly appearing at Crich Tramway Museum and Matlock Storytelling Cafe. Traditional storytelling is all done from memory (never read) and the stories often change in response to audiences. If you have never experienced it you are in for a treat! Biography
Maria takes traditional tales and makes them her own with a warm, engaging, and intimate style which is well suited to sharing story secrets with her audiences. She will leave you with a warm heart and smile on your face. Her storytelling has been described as spellbinding and mesmerising but here are plenty of laughs in there too! Maria creates a safe, warm and welcoming atmosphere whenever she tells – the perfect space to let your imagination run free as you listen.
Maria has been commissioned to tell stories for The Royal Shakespeare Company, Festival at the Edge, Toronto, Moth and Butterfly, Listowel and Montreal International Storytelling festivals and many more beautiful places. She has also featured at Stafford and Wolverhampton Literary Festivals and delivered workshops and talks for The Society for Storytelling.
