Arts Derbyshire x Adverse Camber: Celebrating the Power of Storytelling at Festivity

We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with Adverse Camber, who will be curating an inspiring programme of storytelling performances as part of Festivity, our upcoming series of events celebrating local talent across Derbyshire.

Renowned for producing compelling, high-quality storytelling experiences across the UK and beyond, Adverse Camber brings together some of the most captivating voices in the world of spoken narrative. Their involvement in Festivity will offer audiences the chance to experience stories that span cultures, generations, and genres, shared live by talented artists in an intimate and imaginative setting.

The storytelling strand of Festivity will invite visitors of all ages to connect through the magic of the spoken word, from age-old folktales to contemporary narratives rooted in local life.

Stephen Munn, Director of Arts Derbyshire, shared:
“Storytelling is such a powerful way to bring people together, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome Adverse Camber to Festivity. Their vision and creative approach are a perfect fit for this celebration of community and culture.”

Naomi Wilds, of Adverse Camber said:
“Stories really come alive when people are enjoying them, so we’re delighted to have so many chances to bring stories, communities, fun and celebration together this summer.  Derbyshire is home to brilliant storytellers and our team of Festivity storytellers are massively looking forward to sharing their treasure trove of tales for all ages to people all around the county!”

We’ll be unveiling the list of participating storytellers soon. Stay tuned for more details on who will be joining us on this journey through stories.
