CABARET SEASON IS UPON US!!!….
Over Haddon Village Hall is thrilled to be welcoming Stephen Ashfield to their wonderful Hall on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th May, 2024 for an evening of Song and Banter. Scottish actor and musician Stephen Ashfield trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal Academy of Music, London. Last year, Stephen completed the filming of MARIA, a new biopic of Maria Callas, alongside Angelina Jolie which will be in cinemas in late 2024.
In recent years, Stephen’s stand-out performance in The Book of Mormonin the West End and on Broadway has won him an Olivier Award, and both WhatsOnStage and BroadwayWorld Awards. He has also been busy creating the role of Hamish McLarnon in the new West End-bound British musical, Becoming Nancy, which was recently previewed in Atlanta, Georgia.
For ten (long and somewhat uncomfortable!) years his posterior adorned many London buses and tube posters as Bob Gaudio in the original London cast of Jersey Boys. Other theatre credits include: Legally Blonde, Boy Meets Boy, Imagine This, Tomorrow Morning, and Fame!
Stephen’s break-through role after leaving the Royal Academy of Music was as Boy George in Taboo (West End and UK Tour).
On TV, Stephen can be seen as Lawrence in The Devil’s Hour, Philip Worth in Call The Midwife.
He also appeared (briefly), along side Over Haddon’s very own Tom Pearce in Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd.
Due to the success of the musical soirees over the past 2 years, this Spring they are trialling something new –
Stephen, along side Tom Pearce on Piano, will perform 2 shows: The first, on Friday 17th will be a traditional Cabaret style setting where people can order drinks to enjoy at their table during the show. The second show, on Saturday 17th will be the usual presentation of the show along with a selection of Cheese and biscuits included in the ticket Price
Tickets for Friday 17th May £12.50
Tickets for Saturday 18th May £17.50
As the musical soirees are a village event, they are only advertising the show within in Over Haddon initially to give residents priority for tickets to either show. They will release it to neighbouring villages on Thursday 18th April so book early to avoid disappointment!
Bar opens at 7.30 Show begins at 8.00.
